Prophecies Arenas needing restrictions?
I have observed people(Particularly people who like to gain a utmost unfair advantage against newbies) bringing other campaign characters from Nightfall(The prestigious Any/D self healer build) and Factions(Not as bad now but still needs a mention) just because they can't play fair, I personally have all 3 campaigns and think it is unfair for the beginners in Prophecies to get dished out by someone from another campaign when they already had to deal with people who had a run to Droks for max armour and their 1337, non-elite-skill-using builds!(No offense to these people) I say, restrict access on Proph Arenas to only Prophecies characters! For the love of the little newbies! Sure, Nightfall and Factions only have low level arenas but ANet could always just spend a little time evening things out! I'll leave the upbraiding on this matter tomorrow as I'm tired. Discuss away.

how do they even get into those arenas? arent there lvl restrictions? When i got off of shing jea i was pushing lvl 20 and when i took my sin to tyria i was lvl 20. Even if i wanted to i couldnt fight in the proph arenas. To get there from elona you would be 15 or higher (i bet higher) I dont see how this is a problem but maybe it is.

I have to ask one question then, Should we Restrict access to Cantha and Elona low arenas to canthan and elonian exclusive profesions?

Solving this is simple. Restrict low level arenas so no elites or outsiders can play.

I'm assuming you meant "Elite Skills" right?
I had this problem a lot when I played in the Arenas at low levels. I still honestly don't see why they made Arenas for low level characters. Sure it's a fun "idea", but in reality people always find ways to "cheat" and ruin the ideal fun that the early Arenas were meant for.
If you're really that upset about it, just do what I did and wait 'till you are level 20. Once you're doing RA (kinda), TA, AB, etc, it becomes very even and you don't have to deal with this stuff.

Won't be easier just to lock Elite skills and handicap levels there?

There are always ferries to docks THEN to Prophecies, don't forget.
And I agree with you, Felix but we got to think of the actual beginners.(Those who bought GW 3 hours ago or something.

If elites are already locked, the only thing that remain is the level.
Make any character turn temporally to lvl 10 inside those arenas.
Attribute points reseted, your level moved to 10.
You leave and get your real level back.

Nice idea Mithran, although it might be a bit hard to script for ANet... Though the topic here is the problem of people transferring characters from other campaigns over solely to gain a unfair advantage. Hawk, your statement is almost totally agreeable but I never(sometimes nearly) owned a Any/D self healer once(Sometimes due to ganging, he/she will get p0wned for sure.)

I think this is a good idea. Low level arenas should be limited to the characters from the corresponding campaign only. Implementing it wouldn't be a problem. There are plenty of NPC's in the game already that don't give you anything if you aren't tyrian born, canthan born, or elonian born(+15 attribute quest givers for example, skill quest givers) they would just have to implement this trigger into the arena guards.
as for elites, i agree with that as well. I'm not really sure how to implement that persay but it shouldn't be a problem.

Hm... along with the elite unlocking and the level drop, they could lock also all skill from other campaings.
An elonian gets to Ascalon arena, check his Attributes and Skills panel and oh!
His level dropped to 10, he lost the 30 attribute bonus points if he had them, and all the Factions, Nightfall and Elite skills are locked.
He leaves the Arena, and everything's normal.
Balthazar should have power enough to do so, so we already have the explanation about the handicap.
Hm... that should do.

Right, they already locked elites when I went into Shiverpeak Arena with Barrage on. Don't know about that idea Mith, the main focus here is to "ban" other campaign chars from Proph arenas.

i do some lower lvl arenas, and its not like someone just made a char and it came right over from the other campains... yes i have ran many over powered chars in there... but dont cut urself short... a standard war/mo can kill 2 derves and 2 assasins all at once... if they (enemy) r running the common builds there... i know done it many times....
yes, like i said i have overpowered chars there, its more of a fun thing... ur not hurting anyone or gaining anything from it... no glad points or anything....
it takes alot more time then u think to have an overpowered char there... ive had lvl 6 ranger with UW spider, and also one with a Black Moa ... i think, if someone is going to waste time as i have many of times, they can come into there...
limiting access via campain isnt going to fix ppl complaining... still ppl will have droks armor and many other things.... turning off elites there did change alot of things...
and why limit charicters from other campains? you go to canthas lower lvl arena (which is always empty) they have all core classes there too....
the ascalon and shiverpeak arenas r the only arenas that have any action at all... im shocked they havent put the lower lvl arenas on the central island or such...
and personaly, from what ive seen over 60% of the ppl in the arenas r over powered...
/notsigned
PS. i was on my war/mo in yaks the othe day, and a dervish said i was cheating cause of my stances.... ahahah... i so thought of this tread and its why im replying now....

Look, you didn't really get the point did you? This topic is to restrict this sort of people for the REAL beginners! People like you are just worsening the condition of these arenas for the newbies! And ArenaNet could always script out the arenas to separate levels in the NF and Facs arenas(For example, lvl 1 to 10s can only start a match on each other and the same goes for 10 to 15.)

Ok, so you want only real beginners to play there.... why not take out all ppl who have any fame, any rank, more then 2 lvl 20s on account.... Lets make to to where you must be lvl 16 or greater for the max armor traders to talk to u..... Then... we can make it to where all weapons in there do 10-15 dmg, all shields in there r clean with no bonuses at all....
My point is that if you make to many changes, you will have alot less ppl playing in there, kicking elites did change some ppl... and i have no prob with taking the elites out.... but if anet starts changing everything they will soon have no point in the lower lvl arenas at all....
Like i said, im shocked they didnt move them all to Balthazar temple, they moved the other arenas out of ascalon to there because lack of use....
